Apparently irasshaimase means welcome but it is just another way to shout at customers when greeting them.
The ramen place by me shouts loudly when you enter, and everyone working even the cooks yell it. They say it slightly different. It sounds like IRRASHAMASSET!!! I just know that whenever I leave I confidently shout ARIGATO!!!!! On my way out.
